Learning to play the guitar can be so much fun. It's quicker, easier and much more enjoyable than some people think. We like to have our students playing a few songs at their very first lesson, even if they have never even held a guitar before, it really is that quick!
Lessons on the guitar are available to all ages, and we really do have diverse age groups coming for lessons with us at our 5 star, Edinburgh based music school.
We usually start teaching children age 4+, we have miniature 1/4 and 1/2 size children's guitars that we can let your child use during the lessons. With younger children, we tend to really promote the fun aspects of playing guitar by teaching music that children can identify with (nursery rhymes, cartoon themes, pop songs etc). While encouraging this, we also ensure that the correct level of theoretical and practical knowledge is taught, but in a much gentler and fun way. The high number of primary school children that have attended for many years, shines light on the professional and enjoyable approach we take to educating 4 to 11 year olds. We see each child as an individual and we tailor each lesson specifically to suit their needs and interests. in the past ten or so years, our teachers have taught children from all over Edinburgh with many parents now traveling for much further a field, some of our clients come weekly from as far away as Kilmarnock, Dundee and even one very dedicated parent who drives up from Carlisle! Adult guitar lessons are very popular just now, we teach a very high number of people who want to play guitar but have never even held an instrument before. Our staff have an inside knowledge of what is required to pass standard grade and higher exams, we have taught in high schools for many years. We will ensure that your teenager gets the correct professional tuition required to work in line with SQA school curriculum and pass their exams. We have a fun approach to the necessary course work that schools hand out during 4th, 5th and 6th year, this in turn makes learning easier and guitar practice more enjoyable. Alongside school curriculum, we cover tailored music tuition that will suit your teen's musical interests from rock, indie, pop, heavy metal, punk and much more.
